FREE HOME ENERGY ASSESSMENT

Otley 2030

Find out how efficient your home is and what improvements you could make to reduce your energy bills and support Otley 2030 in the process

Otley 2030 are pleased to announce that we have teamed up with Thermafy Eco Solutions, with support from Northern Powergrid and the National Energy Foundation, to offer local residents free home energy assessments.

What's involved?

An approved energy assessor will visit your home on your chosen date.

They will carry out a detailed assessment of your home, including your homes heating efficiency and heat loss, to help understand how to maximise your homes energy performance.

To complete the survey they will need to turn your heating system on, they will also take a sample of water from the system, measure all your radiators, windows and rooms and collect detailed information about your property. The survey generally takes around an hour.

This data then creates a personalised plan of your home, which outlines the key steps you can to take to achieve a more energy efficient home.

Once your survey has been completed they will send your report through their ThermaFY Home App, where you will find hints and tips on how to improve your home, as well as products and suppliers who can help.

Why is home energy efficiency important?

Environmental impact:

By using less energy, you reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with electricity generation, helping to combat climate change.

Financial savings:

An energy-efficient home leads to lower utility bills, saving you money in the long run, especially as energy costs rise.

Improved comfort:

Proper insulation and efficient heating/cooling systems create a more comfortable living environment with consistent temperatures year-round.

Increased property value:

Energy-efficient homes tend to be more appealing to potential buyers and can command a higher selling price.

Health benefits:

Reducing drafts and moisture issues associated with poor insulation can improve indoor air quality and potentially benefit health.

Resilience against power fluctuations:

Energy-efficient homes may be better prepared to handle power outages or fluctuations due to their optimized energy usage.

What more can I do?

This survey is entry-level and will make important recommendations, but if you want to learn about how you can do a deep retrofit on your property, we recommend you book a full Retrofit Assessment. Two local companies that we recommend for this are Rethink Retrofit and Wrapt Homes.
